Today is the big day! The Wren's Nest and Elliott St Pub are playing host. They are good at this. If you have not been to the Wren's Nest or Elliott St Pub, you will be singing the praises of them both come Sunday morning. A story at the Wren's Nest followed by a sandwich and beer at Elliott St Pub make for a perfect Saturday afternoon. Oh! And don't forget that there is this whole puzzle competition, bike ride thing going on in between.

We start at the Wren's Nest. If you are not sure how to get there, here is a map.

If you are not sure how to get to Elliott St Pub, you can find out here.

Pay With Food. Atlanta Food Bank

See Emily there? She just gave me a couple of barrels to collect cans of food for the Atlanta Food Bank. That was simple! I just asked for Emily and she met me out front with these barrels. Thanks Emily!

So! Check out the list below. Bring a couple or few items of whatever fits in their guidelines, and, viola! you have paid for The Puzzle.

In related news... Cranksgiving is going down on Wednesday. Brandon Static is putting this one together. Make sure to check it out. You will have another chance to donate food and have fun while doing it. Brandon will be at Elliott St Pub Saturday night, so make sure to talk to him. Focus on The Puzzle for now, but when you wake up Sunday, start thinking about Cranksgiving. It is going to be crazy. And fun. And crazy fun.

AtlRoof.com

AtlRoof.com seems a strange company to sponsor a scavenger hunt, but AtlRoof.com is no stranger to cycling. They have their own road racing team and sponsor road races through out the season. A scavenger hunt is a totally different bike event, but they got excited about it and are giving up the goods! Just wait! Fun!

If you have hail damage on your roof, need a new roof or just want a new roof for fun. AtlRoof.com is your company. Check em out!

Octane

You might have recognized the font from The Puzzle flier. That font is on the wall of Octane Coffee Shop over on Howell Mill. Octane is probably the best coffee shop in the South. Seriously, Tony and his gang make geek out over coffee. They go to school for it. They have competitions to see who makes the best coffee drinks. They get fussy if they don't make a perfect fern.

Don't know what a fern is? Well, get on over there and tell them you want the perfect fern!

Octane is donating six prizes for The Puzzle. Six fast puzzle solving types will win these prizes and be the envy of their competitors. Yes yes!

Authentique Home!

What antique store sponsors a bike event? None, because antique stores are for old people and people who ride bikes are scared of old people.

Oh wait! What's this? Authentique Home is breaking free of those stereotypes!? So, I hear!

Authentique Home is stocked with furnishings that have more character than what you will find at your favorite 17th St location! You think your grandma has cool stuff in her house? Well, wait till you give her a tour of your place after you visit Authentique Home! She will think Eugene Debs invented a time machine and came back as an interior designer. ....just wait.

Authentique Home! Repeat 2 times!

Candi, the owner of this fun store, has stepped forward and donated some gift certificates those fast types out there. Thanks Candi!

The Weather!

Have you seen the weather for Saturday!? Perfect!!!

Young Blood

I saw Kelly from Young Blood Gallery yesterday. Apparently she lives in my neighborhood! She said to me, "I hear you got a bike thing going on". I said, "Yep!". She then summoned the power of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and sky hooked some prizes into the window of my truck. It was pretty amazing.

If you have never been to Young Blood go check it out. With the holidays coming, you will want to visit this store when you need that cool and unique gift that co-worker you have been in love with for the past eighteen months. Or maybe you just need a gift for a friend.

Did you know Hanukkah starts December 1st this year!?

Loose Nuts!

Did you know that Loose Nuts carries Brooks saddles out of England?

Did you know that Loose Nuts sells Valentine apparel out of Athens GA?

Did you know that Loose Nuts is located on Cherokee St?

Did you know that Loose Nuts closes at seven pm on most days?

There comes a time in life where you need to know these things.

Loose Nuts is sponsoring one of the stops of The Puzzle! The first three men and the first three women who arrive at the Loose Nuts' sponsored checkpoint will get a prize. Chris and Kareem are currently in the Loose Nuts study with their ledgers and books, drinking scotch, smoking their pipes and thinking about what kind of prize a deserving person like you would like to win from them. Stop by and visit them this week and tell them what you want to win. They will listen to you.

Danger!

The woman who threw that "Lucky 13 Alley Cat", or was it the "Black Cat Scavenger Hunt"(?), told me, "You gotta have t-shirts to make it a successful bike event." So....

I called Ed from Danger Press to see about getting shirts. A week later the shirts are here! He brought two kind of shirts; one kind you can buy and one kind you can win. Personally, I hope you win a shirt. With twelve prize shirts, there is a good chance that you will win one! If you end up buying a shirt, that works too.
Take a moment and check out the Danger Press web site. They got their start by printing designs that no other t-shirt printing company was willing to print. When you are ready to print a shirt or two, give them a call. You will be glad you did and when the shirts come, you will be crazy glad!

Map!

You might not know where The Wren's Nest is. Not a problem. Here is a map! Just click that "Direction" link to find how to get there. It's a lot closer than you might think. If you are thinking about driving to the start, please park at Elliott Street Pub and ride your bike down from there. It will be inconvenient for you to go down to The Wren's Nest afterwards.
